Written by: Katherine Inez Mesa, Embodiment Mentor The trees know it. The wind carries it. The land reminds us daily. We are deep in the heart of Fall—mid-season, mid-journey—and it’s here that something sacred stirs beneath the surface. This season always invites me inward. The air has changed, the light is different, and with each gust of wind or fallen leaf, I feel a quiet prompting: pause, listen, soften. As I shared in our Fall Season IG Live, “Fall is not just a season that invites us to witness what has been watered. It’s also a season to witness what is complete.” 🍂 Honoring What Grew, Releasing What’s Done Since Spring, we’ve been planting seeds—of intention, of action, of becoming. Some have blossomed beautifully. Others never took root. And some… we’ve outgrown. In truth, the harvest isn’t just about the abundance. It’s also about the awareness of what no longer aligns. I’ve been asking myself: “What am I still carrying that I don’t need anymore?” “What weight did I mistake for responsibility?” “Where am I still repeating what my soul is ready to release?” Some of the stories I’ve been holding onto aren’t even mine. Some patterns were inherited, others picked up along the way. And in my own process, I’ve realized: liberation often begins with the decision to stop rehearsing old pain. 🔥 The Practice of Mid-Fall Liberation Letting go doesn’t always come in grand gestures. Sometimes it looks like not replying right away. Sometimes it’s skipping the habit that keeps me small. Sometimes it’s remembering that I don’t need to earn my rest. When I sit with myself in stillness—through journaling, breath, or silence—I can hear what’s ready to be released. It becomes clear that the habits I repeat are either reinforcing the cycles I want to break or rebuilding the life I’m calling in. “We are the cycle breakers,” I said recently. “We are the ones choosing more of ourselves, over and over again.” This season has reminded me that letting go is leadership. And leadership begins within. 🌀 An Invitation to You If you’ve been feeling the tension of holding too much, or the quiet whisper of change asking to be heard—consider this your invitation to pause and reflect with me. Take a moment to journal or voice note:
Let’s not wait until winter to make space. Let’s begin here, in the middle--where the gold of Fall meets the truth of our becoming. ✍🏽 A Note About This Blog
This marks the first in a new rhythm of mid-month reflections from our LAPS Holistic Arts Collective. Each month, a practitioner (and in time, even members of our wider community) will offer their lived wisdom around the energy of the month—be it liberation, leadership, harmony, or beyond. We hope these writings feel like a breath, a mirror, or a spark for your own journey.
